New Delhi: Actress Kangana Ranaut’s remarks against the backdrop of farmers’ agitation have drawn widespread protests. Akali Dal leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa has lodged a complaint with the police alleging that the entire Sikh community has been called Khalistani terrorists. The Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee, chaired by Sirsa, has accused Kangana Ranaut of deliberately trying to portray the peasant agitation as a Khalistani struggle.
Actress Kangana Ranaut’s comment on Instagram has caused controversy. “Khalistani terrorists may be putting pressure on the government now, but we must not forget one woman, who was trampled underfoot by a single female prime minister. No matter how much misery she inflicted on the country, she trampled on the Khalistanis like mosquitoes. They want a guru, ”Kangana said.
She made another controversial remark shortly afterwards by posting a picture of Indira. Indira’s story is gaining importance in the context of the resurgence of Khalistanism. They said the emergency would come soon. The film Emergency, in which they act, is considered to be a reference. But there has been widespread outcry against the portrayal of Sikhs as entirely Khalistanis.
Kangana Ranaut’s controversial remarks came after Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that he was withdrawing all three agricultural laws following a long-running agitation by farmers’ organizations. Last Friday, the Prime Minister announced the repeal of agricultural laws. He also apologized to the farmers of the country. The announcement was made by the Prime Minister on the eve of Assembly elections in UP and Punjab.
Actress Kangana Ranaut, who has already come out in support of the new agricultural laws, has made several controversial remarks on the issue. A complaint has been lodged against them at the Mandir Marg police station in Delhi in the wake of the new statement.
