Indonesia extends coronavirus containment measures for another week amid Delta’s outbreak
The Indonesian government has announced an extension of emergency measures to limit community-level activities (PPKM) for another week on Java and Bali. including other provinces outside these 2 islands
Xinhua news agency reported that Indonesian President Joko Widodo announced the decision. during a press conference on Monday (Aug 23)
President Widodo said Some regions on Java and Bali including Jakarta, Bandung City (West Java), Surabaya City. (East Java) can reduce PPKM measures from level 4 to level 3.
Indonesia has implemented four levels of travel restrictions on Java and Bali in the past five weeks. After the number of people infected with COVID-19 was found increased from the end of June-July due to the spread of the COVID-19 virus. A delta species that can spread rapidly.
