Kannur: AN Shamsir MLA has taken to Facebook to express his disagreement with Minister PA Mohammad Riyaz over the issue of MLAs visiting ministers with contractors. The mention was made in a Facebook post congratulating the state film award winners.
Shamseeer used the title of the post as the dialogue ‘Murali is the biggest investment in the world’ in the movie ‘Water’. Jayasurya played the role of Murali in ‘Vellam’ and won the Best Actor award. In the movie, the dialogue is told to Murali by the doctor character played by Siddique.
The Riyas-Shamsir rift erupted when Public Works Minister PA Mohammad Riyaz told the assembly on July 7 that some MLAs should stop coming to meet the minister along with public works contractors.
There were reports in the media that Shamseeer’s dissent had been acknowledged by some other MLAs. With this, Riyaz came to the scene with a public explanation that he had told the contractors in his own constituency to come and meet the minister and not to come with the contractors in other constituencies.
