Investigation Underway for Hit-and-Run Incident in Samcheok
Gangwon-do – In a tragic turn of events, local authorities have launched an investigation into a hit-and-run incident that claimed the life of a man in his 60s. The incident occurred on a road in Samcheok, leaving the community in shock and mourning.
The victim, identified as Mr. A (61), was discovered lifeless on a street in Seongbuk-dong, Samcheok City during the early hours of the morning. Promptly alerted, the Samcheok Police Station immediately dispatched officers to the scene to assess the situation.
Reviewing the available CCTV footage, investigators deduced that Mr. A was struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross the road. Regrettably, the dim lighting conditions at the time hindered the identification of the exact make and model of the car involved, causing a delay in pinpointing the responsible party.
Efforts to narrow down the suspects eventually led the police to focus their attention on a tanker vehicle. The evidence suggests that this particular mode of transportation may be connected to the hit-and-run incident. Consequently, law enforcement officials have initiated a preliminary investigation to ascertain the involvement of the driver operating that specific vehicle.

Police announced on the 12th that they were investigating a driver believed to have hit and run a man in his 60s on a road in Samcheok, Gangwon-do.
According to Samcheok Police Station, Mr A (61) was found dead on a road in Seongbuk-dong, Samcheok City at around 2:21 am today.
He sent the police after receiving the report and confirmed through CCTV that a car had hit Mr A while crossing the road. However, due to the dark environment at the time of the accident, it was difficult to identify the vehicle, so the suspect vehicle could not be immediately identified.
After identifying individual passing vehicles before and after the accident, the police identified a tanker vehicle which is believed to be likely to be a suspect, and they are conducting a pre-order investigation into the driver of the vehicle.
