It was revealed that the suspect accused of opening a gun at the Independence Day parade audience in a suburb of Chicago on the 4th local time, the American Independence Day, had been planning the crime meticulously for several weeks.

The Chicago Lake County Major Crimes Task Force said in a briefing.

The suspect, 21-year-old Robert Cremo III, fired more than 70 rounds indiscriminately at the crowd at the parade site at the time of the attack, and the gun used in the attack was legally purchased in the Chicago area, the task force said.

In particular, it was confirmed that the suspect showed meticulousness, such as leaving the gun at the scene and disguising himself as a woman to avoid police crackdowns after the crime. Passing through the crowd, he went to his mother’s house, got into her car and fled, but was arrested eight hours later.

With the death toll in the massacre, the total number of casualties has risen to seven, and the number of injured has risen to 40.
