iOS 16 Beta Discovers References to New ‘Siri Remote’ for Apple TV

According to the foreign media on the 23rd (local time), a reference believed to be a new Siri Remote for Apple TV was found in Apple’s iOS 16 beta version.

Reportedly, the iOS 16 beta version contains a string of ▲SiriRemote4 ▲WirelessRemoteFirmware.4 that is different from the existing Siri Remote.

Considering that the Siri Remotes released so far are ▲SiriRemote ▲SiriRemote2 ▲SiriRemote3, ▲SiriRemote4 is highly likely to be a remote control for Apple TV that will be released soon, foreign media reported.

However, additional details about “SiriRemote4” are not mentioned in the code, and nothing is known about the design or function of the remote at this time. Also, the discovery of code does not guarantee that Apple will release a new Recocon.

On the other hand, famous Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicted that “a new Apple TV with an improved cost structure will be released in the second half of the year.” The Apple TV 4K model, released in April 2021, is priced at $179 for the 32GB version and $199 for the 64GB version.

The previous-generation Apple TV HD 32GB version that does not support 4K is priced at $149. There is also speculation that the price of the new Apple TV may be set at less than $100.
