Batting first, Rajasthan scored 210 for six in the allotted overs. Captain Sanju Samson with a crucial innings, scoring a half-century.

In the first power play, openers Jose Butler and Yashaswi Jaiswal laid the foundations for the Rajasthan Royals with 50 runs. Later, Samson Devdutt Padikallum, a Malayalam teammate who reached the crease, led RR to a safe score.
The duo put together a 70-run stand. Sanju hit three fours and five sixes in his half-century. This is the 16th half century of a Malayalee player’s IPL career. West Indies’ Shimron Hetmeyer led Rajasthan with a score of 200.

T Natarajan and Umran Malik took two wickets each for Sunrisers Hyderabad. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Romario Shepherd took the remaining wickets.
