IPL 2022: Sanju Samson to stay with Rajasthan Royals; Know the players the team retains

Jaipur: Malayalee player Sanju Samson will continue in the Rajasthan Royals team in the IPL. Rajasthan decided to retain Sanju as the first player. The annual salary will be `14 crore. Sanju will continue to be the hero. In the 2018 star auction, Rajasthan bought Sanju for Rs 8 crore.

Sanju was one of the leading Rajasthan batsmen last season. However, Sanju’s unfollowed the Rajasthan Royals on Instagram and started following the Chennai Super Kings, which led to rumors. Apart from Sanju, Rajasthan will retain Jose Butler, Joffre Archer, Liam Livingston and the successful Jaiswal. Rajasthan Royals sources said the decision would be made clear by Sunday.

Chennai will retain MS Dhoni, Ruthuraj Gaekwad and Ravindra Jadeja. Negotiations are progressing with England all-rounder Moin Ali. If Ali is not ready, he will retain Sam Karen.

Mumbai Indians will retain captain Rohit Sharma, pacer Jaspreet Bumra and Kieron Pollard. Suryakumar Yadav has been approached by a new team but the player has not opened his mind. Mumbai are also planning to retain Ishant Kishan. Kolkata are expected to retain Sunil Narine and Andre Russell. Varun Chakraborty, Shubhman Gill and Venkatesh Iyer are both likely. The Rajasthan Royals will retain Sanju Samson, Jose Butler and Ben Stokes.

The RCB will also retain Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell and Yusvendra Chahal. Sunrisers Hyderabad will retain Rashid Khan. And either Kane Williamson or Johnny Bairstow will remain on the team. Punjab will retain Ravi Bishnoi and Mayank Agarwal.

Another news is that KL Rahul will be the captain of the new team Lucknow. There are indications that the team will hold talks with David Warner. The list of players is due to be submitted to the BCCI on the 30th of this month.
