According to Cricketbus, Cricket South Africa has informed the BCCI that the IPL can be held at minimal cost and discussions have been held between the two boards in this regard. The UAE has hosted the IPL for the last two years. There are indications that the BCCI may also be interested in shifting the tournament to South Africa as it could host matches at a lower cost.

Meanwhile, Cricket South Africa has informed the BCCI that this year’s IPL will be held in four venues across the country. They point to Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg, Centurion Park in Pretoria, Willoughby Park in Benoni and Senves Cricket Stadium in Pochafstrom. They have informed the BCCI that this could create bio-bubbles for the teams in Johannesburg. Cricket South Africa has told the BCCI that the four stadiums are close by, just a short drive away, which will reduce logistical costs.
