Mumbai: Hardik Pandey has hinted that there will be no return to the Mumbai team after the Mumbai Indians dropped their all-time loyal all-rounder Hardik Pandya at the end of the IPL Mega Auction deadline. In an emotional post posted on Instagram sharing his memories with the Mumbai team, Hardik said that all good things have an end.

These memories will stay with me for the rest of my life. And moments spent in Mumbai. All the friends, colleagues and fans who were here. I am indebted to the Mumbai Indians for giving me the opportunity to grow not only as a player but also as an individual. I came here as a young man with big dreams. We fought together, we won together. We lost together. Every moment with this team has a special place in my heart. But there is an end to all good things. “Mumbai Indians will always be close to my heart,” Hardik said.

The general assessment is that the recent poor form and injury has led Mumbai to the decision to drop Hardik. Mumbai Indians have retained captain Rohit Sharma, Jaspreet Bumra, Suryakumar Yadav and Kieron Pollard at the end of the season.

Zaheer Khan, the Mumbai team’s director of cricket operations, said yesterday that he was planning to recoup at least three of the missing players in the IPL mega star auction, but there were indications that Hardik would not return. There are reports that Hardik will be joining the Lucknow team where KL Rahul is expected to captain the team. The Lucknow team is also expected to acquire Hardik’s close friend KL Rahul. Apart from Hardik, youngster Ishant Kishan, Hardik’s brother Krunal Pandya and opener Quinton de Kok were also dropped ahead of the Mumbai star auction.
