Hyderabad: Sunrisers Hyderabad has released the IPL retention list ahead of the IPL mega auction. Cricinfo reports that Hyderabad skipper Kane Williamson, who dropped spinner Rashid Khan, has been retained along with Jammu and Kashmir’s Abdul Samad and new pacer Umran Malik in Indian cricket.

Rashid Khan has been dropped from Hyderabad following reports that he will be moving to Lucknow, the new team in the IPL. Rashid Khan has not played for any team other than Sunrisers since the beginning of his IPL career. It is reported that the teams may be ready to spend a lot of money on Rashid if he goes to the star auction this time.

Fans were also amazed that Hyderabad had retained the likes of Abdul Samad, the Jammu and Kashmir batsman, instead of the likes of Johnny Bairstow. Samad has yet to make a big impact in the IPL.

However, it was notable that Hyderabad retained Umran Malik as a replacement for Neta bowler after T Natarajan was ruled out of Kovid last IPL season. Last IPL season, Umran Malik surprised the fans with his speed. Umran Malik was also the fastest bowler last season.

Umran Malik, 21, was stunned by his fiery pace during his debut match against Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL. Malik, who owns the fastest ball of the season with 151.03km / h, set the record for the fastest ball of the season with 153km / h against Bangalore in his second match.

After the match against Bangalore, Virat Kohli, the Indian captain and captain of Bangalore, congratulated Umran Malik. Soon after, Umran Malik was selected as the net bowler of the Indian team for the T20 World Cup.
