IS, Al Qaeda threat; Do not travel without notice: Rescue mission difficult | Afghanistan | Taliban

Kabul: The rescue mission through Kabul airport in Afghanistan is reportedly getting more difficult. The US and Germany have warned their citizens not to travel to the airport without official notice. The warning comes as IS and Al Qaeda pose a security threat in Afghanistan.

The continuing thousands of crowds at the airport are a setback to the rapid rescue mission of countries including the US. About 14,000 people are reported to be waiting at and around the airport. About 17,000 people have been released so far.

Meanwhile, senior Taliban leader Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, who arrived in Kabul, activated the move to form a government. Baradar interacted with commanders and religious leaders in Kabul. A Taliban spokesman reiterated that the new government would not be democratic but that the rights of all would be protected.
