IS American operation in Somalia after killing the leader A senior leader of ISIS has been killed in a US military operation in Somalia

Mogadishu: Senior Islamic State (ISIS) leader Bilal Al Sudani was killed in a US-led military operation in northern Somalia. This was announced through a statement made by the Secretary of Defense of the United States, Lloyd Austin. He also said that some IS terrorists have also been killed in the operation.

The US claimed that no civilians were injured in the attack. The attack was ordered by President Joe Biden.

The statement said Bilal al-Sudani was involved in fostering IS’s growing presence in Africa and financing its operations around the world, including in Afghanistan.

The United States has banned Bilal al-Sudani since 2012 for sending money and people from abroad to the training camp of al-Shabaab, the main terrorist group in the region.
