“Does anyone know what the logo on the t-shirt that President Macron wore?”
According to the British daily The Guardian on the 3rd (local time), questions and conspiracy theories heated up social media over the logo of French President Emmanuel Macron’s t-shirt.
The day before, President Macron took a video encouraging people to be vaccinated against the new coronavirus, wearing a black short-sleeved T-shirt, and posted it on Instagram and TikTok.
In the video, the T-shirt logo, which consists of three triangles and two circles, looks like an owl or a toy block.
Speculation has been raised on Twitter that this logo is a symbol of the ‘Bohemian Club’, a closed gathering of influential political and business figures that started in California in 1872. The emblem of the Bohemian Club is also shaped like an owl.
When a Twitter user posted a photo comparing the two logos, “a new world power called the Bohemian Club is now moving with a face on it,” nearly 1,500 people responded with a ‘Like’.
However, the bohemian club-shaped owl and the logo in question are different in appearance. Also, the Guardian explained that the letters B and C should be engraved on the bohemian club emblem.
As the identity of the logo became a hot topic, local media reported that French netizens were looking for a T-shirt brand by capturing a video and performing a Google image search.
When a Twitter user posted, “I can’t find the brand of the T-shirt that Macron is wearing, it must be a symbol of the new organization he joined.” More than 1,800 people responded ‘Like it’.
There have even been speculations that he has ties to French members of the secret society Freemasonry.
Meanwhile, it is reported that a French shopping mall started selling a T-shirt of the same shape under the name of ‘Macron T-shirt’ for 19.9 euros (about 27,000 won) on the afternoon of the day the video was uploaded.
