ISL 2021-22 Cell full Chhetri, double goal for Udanta; Bangalore defeats Chennai

Panaji: Bangalore FC beat Chennai FC by three wickets in the ISL 2021-22 South Indian Derby (Bengaluru FC vs Chennaiyin FC). The BFC won by three goals to nothing at the GMC Athletic Stadium. When Udanta Singh scored a double, skipper Sunil Chhetri started the match with assists.

Bangalore took the lead early in the match. Iran’s Iman Basafa gave the BFC the lead in the 12th minute through a penalty. Sunil Chhetri was awarded a penalty for knocking down Edwin in the box. Udanta Singh then doubled the lead in the 42nd minute with an assist by Chhetri. Once again, Chhetri opened the scoring in the 52nd minute when Udanta scored a brace.

Despite winning, Bengaluru FC are sixth with 17 points from 13 matches. Chennai are fifth with 18 points. If they had won today, Chennai would have reached the top. With 20 points each, Hyderabad and Kerala Blasters are in the first and second positions respectively and Jamshedpur FC is third, just one point behind.
