ISL 2021-22: FC Goa-Northeast United draw; Still hard to move forward

Fatorda: The FC Goa-North East United match in the Indian Super League (ISL 2021-22) ended in a draw. Both scored one goal each. Hernan Santana’s goal gave North East the lead. But Ayram Cabrera’s goal equalized for Goa.

Goa had the upper hand in both possession and shooting. But contrary to the flow of the match, North East took the lead in the second minute. However, Goa managed to pay off a goal in the first half. Cabrera’s goal came from a Alberto Noguera pass.

With a draw, the survival of both teams is at stake. FC Goa are eighth with 13 points from 11 matches. East Bengal are 11th with 9 points.

The giants will come face to face tomorrow. ATK Mohan Bagan will take on Bangalore FC. ATK is fifth in the points table. Bangalore is in seventh position. If they win, ATK will move up to third place. If Bangalore wins, they will be fifth with 16 points.
