Ismail Haniya re-elected Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh Re-Elected As Leader Of Hamas

Gaza City: Ismail Haniya, 58, has been re-elected head of political affairs for Hamas, the Palestinian resistance movement in Gaza. Hania, who has been head of Hamas since 2017, was re-elected unopposed for four years.

Hania, who has been based in Turkey and Qatar for the past two years, controls the operations of Hamas from outside. He also led Hamas in the 11-day conflict with Israel last May.

Haniya led Hamas’ entry into politics in the 2006 Palestinian parliamentary elections.
