Israel discovers 3,300-year-old treasure cave

An ancient treasure cave in Israel was discovered by chance on September 14, as construction workers renovated the beach. in Palmashim Beach National Park, south of Tel Aviv. Israel

The Israel Archaeological Agency (IAA) has announced the discovery of an ancient sealed cave. After the workers used drilling equipment to hit the ceiling of the cave until a hole was opened. making it visible that there was a secret room below A group of archaeologists climbed into the cave or chamber. and it was found that the space inside appeared to have been closed for a long time without traces of being touched by outsiders

The shape of the man-made cave is rectangular. with a pillar in the middle In a video released by the IAA, archaeologists believe the pottery dates back to the time of an ancient Egyptian king who died in 1213 BC, including large bowls partially filled with bones, cups, cooking pots, storage jars, lamps and arrows, or a bronze spearhead These objects are believed to be offerings to accompany the deceased on their journey to the afterlife. and has never been touched It has since been placed there some 3,300 years ago, around the reign of Ramses II, in connection with the departure of the Old Testament. which describes the journey of the Israelites out of Egypt

At least one complete skeleton was also found in two rectangular areas in the corners of the cave.

Eli Yannai, the IAA’s bronze age expert, said the ships came from Cyprus, Lebanon, northern Syria, Gaza and Jaffa, showing the lively trading activity that takes place along the coast. And perhaps this cave gives us a complete picture of the funeral tradition of the late Bronze Age.
