It is reported that the death of the journalist who was killed in a shooting in Israel was intended
The West Bank: A joint investigation report has been released in the case of a journalist who was shot dead by the Israeli army during a military operation in the city of Jenin in the West Bank in northern England. It is said in the report that the murder of the journalist was planned. The report was prepared by a London-based research firm and the Palestinian Human Rights Foundation.
Aljazeera journalist Shireen Abu Aklay was killed on May 11. Shireen was a Palestinian writer. The Palestinian Ministry of Health said at the time that the cause of death was a gunshot wound to the head.
There is mention in the report that the firing was done deliberately by the police on the basis of clear information that there were journalists in the area.
The report says that the Israeli soldier opened fire for two minutes and then the army opened fire on those who came to rescue Shireen.
Shireen was shot by the Israeli army while filming Israeli raids in Jenin. Another journalist Ali Samoudi was also shot.
Al-Jazeera’s Ramallah bureau chief, Walid al-Omari, said at the time that Palestinian citizens had not fired. Israel issued a statement at the time referring to this possibility. Waleed Al Omar’s comments were against this.
The Israeli army said it had been attacked with heavy gunfire and explosives while operating in Jenin and had retaliated. But a new report has come out by turning this debate upside down.
Since 2000, around 50 Palestinian journalists have been killed in Israeli attacks.
