Thiruvananthapuram – The preliminary conclusion of the forensic department is that the explosive device thrown at the CPM state committee office, AKG center, was of very low strength and was only of the nature of a bomb. Among the chemicals collected from the spot, potassium chlorite, nitrate and aluminum powder were found. Forensic experts said that these are used only for making low explosives.

The preliminary examination was done at the Explosives Section of the State Forensic Science Laboratory. No material that could increase the impact of the blast was recovered from the scene. The bomb will be detonated with the help of a detonator. But here the explosive device was thrown. The samples collected were handed over to the Director of Forensic Science Lab by the court yesterday for detailed examination. The final report will be given to the court within a week.
