Attention was drawn to the fact that the nutritional ingredients of the ‘Ranking Chicken Com’ chicken breast sausage, which sold more than 10 million units, differed from the product labelling.

On the 3rd, YouTuber ‘Nugurigo’, who runs a food-related podcast, posted a video titled ‘Bestik Sausage Nutrient Inspection’.

Neguri Dago said, “As a result of asking for a nutritional analysis of the best sausage, the actual nutritional content was △7.9 g for carbohydrates △ 3.7 g for sugars △ 7.1 g for fat △ 2.2 g for saturated fat and △ 19.3 g for protein.”

The nutrients listed on the bestik are △ Carbohydrates less than 1g △ Sugar less than 1g △ Fat 2.1g △ Saturated fat 0.7g △ Protein 28g.

Carbohydrate content was 790% higher than stated, sugar, fat and saturated fat were 300 to 400% higher, and protein was 31% lower than stated.

In response, Ranking Chicken Com, which sold the sausage, said, “We recognize that there is a problem with the nutrition labeling of the product, and have asked the manufacturer to confirm the facts, while ceasing sales immediately.” Next, he explained, “We intend to complete a full inspection of all products sold within a month to prevent a recurrence. We will prepare a compensation plan for products found to have problems through this and notify them once again.”

Ranking Chicken Com added, “We will do our best to keep the trust with our customers, and we will investigate and improve quickly. We apologize for disappointing our customers once again.”
