Ahmedabad: Cricketer Ravindra Jadeja has sought votes for his wife Rivaba, who is contesting on a BJP ticket in the Gujarat assembly elections. Jadeja is with Rivaba by participating in campaign events and meeting voters. Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah came to meet the two in person.

Rivaba is seeking constituency from Jamnagar North constituency. Here, Jadeja personally attended party campaign events. Today, Amit Shah, who came to Gujarat for election campaign, met Jadeja and Rivaba. Both were spotted directly at the Jamnagar airport.

Jadeja had earlier thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Amit Shah for giving his wife a seat. “Congratulations to my wife who got a BJP ticket in the assembly elections. Very proud of your hard work and efforts. Bye. Let us continue to work for the progress of the society,” Jadeja tweeted. The actor also thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Amit Shah for believing in Rivaba’s potential and giving her a chance for a sacred mission.

Rivaba is a mechanical engineer. He is also a relative of senior Congress leader Harisingh Solanki. She married Ravindra Jadeda in 2016. Rivaba has been active with social work in the Jamnagar-Saurashtra region for years. Over the past few months, he has been working in the constituency.

Sitting MLA Dharmendra Singh M. Rivaba was given the ticket instead of Jadeja. This time BJP has denied seats to more than 30 sitting MLAs. Following this, seven leaders who submitted nomination papers as independent candidates have been expelled from the party.
