“Make fake news that if you ride in Incheon, Jeju tourism will be adversely affected”

(Incheon = Yonhap News) Reporter Kim Sang-yeon = Democratic Party candidate Lee Jae-myung, who ran for the parliamentary by-election in Gyeyang, Incheon, on the 1st of June, appealed for a chance to work so that he could prove his skills on the 31st, one day before the voting day.
Candidate Lee said at the campaign site around Gyesan Station on Incheon Subway Line 1 in Gyeyang-gu, Incheon on the same day, “No matter how good a farmer is, he needs a gravel field to work.”
He explained, “If I had the ability, Jeongjo, who led the revival of Joseon by giving the children of slaves a chance, and Yi Sun-sin, who gave an unprecedented 24 victories in 24 battles in world naval history, were able to do it because they are capable leaders.”
He added, “The world can become either a hell or a heaven depending on the capabilities and will of a political leader.” He added, “If we select competent and faithful workers, we can make a better world.”
Candidate Lee also held an intensive campaign with candidates for local elections in Gyeyang-gu, and put all of his energy into gathering supporters at the last minute with the ‘theory of checking the government’ at the fore.
“How big is the difference between a political group that seeks to privatize the power entrusted to the people for private gain and a group that invests (budget) for the people,” he said.
Candidate Lee also criticized the ruling party’s offensive over the relocation of Gimpo Airport, saying, “I am creating fake news that if you take a plane from Gimpo, Jeju Island tourism is booming, and if you take it from Incheon, it will be badly affected.”
He continued, “Politics is about doing things that others can’t do because of political interests,” he said.
Actor Lee Won-jong and comedian Seo Seung-man joined the campaign on this day and appealed for support for Lee Jae-myung, saying, “Lee Jae-myung is a worker who showed his skills while serving as the mayor of Seongnam and Gyeonggi-do.”
Candidate Lee is expected to campaign with candidates for local elections in Incheon in front of Lotte Department Store in Michuhol-gu from the evening, and then finish the campaign near Gyeyang-gu Office.
