A group has approached the court with a complaint that certain castes were insulted in the film. Tribesmen in Tamil Nadu took to the streets to pay their respects to the sun. They also wore snakes around their necks and rats on their hands.

They thanked the star for pointing out the plight of the tribal people through Jai Bhim. The incident took place in front of the Madurai Collectorate on Monday. Fifty people from the tribes of Katunayakan, Sholega, Adiyan and Kanikkar gathered. The president of the Tamil Nadu Tribal Nomads Federation said that the 20 lakh people will stand by the sun in the face of allegations that it has hurt the feelings of the Vanniyar community.

Jai Bhim was released on November 2 through Amazon Prime. It had generated a lot of controversy along with excellent commentary. The Vanniyar gang has demanded an apology from Surya, Jyothika and director TJ Gnanavel and Amazon Prime Video for allegedly insulting the Vanniyar community and paying Rs 5 crore in damages. They say they will approach the court.
