Jammu and Kashmir: Will Taliban fight Al Qaeda? India under observation; Concern | India | Taliban

New Delhi: The Kashmir issue is once again being discussed after the Al Qaeda-linked terrorist group Al-Qaeda praised the Taliban for taking over the government after the US withdrawal from Afghanistan. Al Qaeda’s call for an immediate liberation of Kashmir from the hands of anti – Islamists have raised concerns. In addition to Kashmir, Palestine, the Levant, Somalia and Yemen are on Al Qaeda’s list of “independent states.” At the same time, the Taliban have made it clear that Kashmir is not on their agenda and wants good relations with India.

But India is concerned about how the Taliban will react to the demands of terrorist groups, including Al Qaeda, which is very close. India is monitoring the movements of the Taliban. The Taliban recently announced that it would not allow Afghanistan to be a base for terrorist activities affecting other countries. But the reality is that no one fully trusts the Taliban. The world is worried that the situation is conducive for terrorists to flourish on Afghan soil under the Taliban.

Mullah Omar, the first Taliban leader, had close ties with al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden. It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post. Although the Taliban and Al Qaeda follow two methods when it comes to religion, the Taliban have not yet matured enough to criticize Al Qaeda. The Taliban will have to control Al Qaeda, Jaish-e-Muhammad and Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist groups on Afghan soil if they want to ensure that Kashmir is untouched.

While saying that the Taliban is not interested in Kashmir, they have done nothing to stop Pakistani terrorist groups from operating in Afghanistan. During the Taliban’s rule in Afghanistan from 1996-2001, groups such as Harkat-ul-Ansar focused on Afghanistan. Jaish leader Maulana Masood Azhar has set up terrorist camps in Khost in Afghanistan in the past. The world is watching to see if the Taliban regime in Afghanistan will repeat the same history.

Indian officials say they do not fully believe that Kashmir is not on the Taliban ‘s current targets. Lashkar-e-Taiba and Lashkar-e-Jhanvi were also present during the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan. They handle some border checkposts. The Lashkar-e-Taiba is notorious for carrying out terrorist activities in Kashmir. Concerns have been raised that the new situation could further fertilize Pakistan-backed terrorists.

Shortly after the Taliban’s seizure, a statue of Maharaja Ranjit Singh in the Lahore Fort complex was smashed by Pakistan’s militant group Tehrike. India protested. Security has been beefed up in Kashmir since it fell into the hands of the Afghan Taliban. India’s concern is not only whether Afghanistan will once again become a breeding ground for terrorism. If so, it is only that India will be most affected.

There are organizations in Kashmir that openly and covertly support the Taliban. Several terrorist groups in Kashmir had set up camps in Afghanistan. There are fears that the terrorists may get more weapons and facilities as Pakistan’s support increases. Even as the US announced its withdrawal from Afghanistan, India had demanded an end to air strikes on terrorist bases. India is also seriously considering whether China’s support for the Taliban, along with Pakistan, could lead to renewed tensions on India’s borders. It is learned that this was also discussed at a high level meeting chaired by the Prime Minister yesterday.
