Janaki Omkar and Naveen Razak’s Naveen Razak and their Rasputin Dance will be featured in the videos that will make waves in 2021. Medical students Naveen and Janaki dancing in their hospital attire turned into a big controversy and even bigger wave. MBBS students of Thrissur Medical College shared the dance steps for the famous song ‘Rasputin’ by Bonnie N Band.
Some were annoyed that their religion was different. Controversial posts appeared on social media from some quarters alleging love jihad and proselytizing and imagining the two as lovers. But what happened with this was that their dance got more reach. Moreover, the Raspberry Challenge began. Many people supported Janaki and Naveen by stepping into the Raspberry song with similar dance steps. These include medical students.
The video, which was shared on Instagram, went viral within seconds. Various handles on social media responded by constantly sharing dance videos to the hate campaigns that followed. UN Cultural Rights Special Reporter Karima Bennons made the remarks during her speech praising the viral dance.
