(Tokyo = Yonhap News) Reporter Kim Ho-joon = Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and Mongolian President Ohna Khurelsukh held a summit in Tokyo, Japan on the 29th.

According to Kyodo News, Prime Minister Kishida and President Ohna shared strong concerns about North Korea’s series of ballistic missile launches in a meeting held at the Prime Minister’s Office in Tokyo that evening.

The two leaders also agreed that nuclear threats against Russia’s attack on Ukraine are unacceptable and that nuclear weapons should not be used.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Mongolia.

The two leaders upgraded the relationship between the two countries to a “special strategic partnership” and issued a joint statement that included the content of “building a more mutually beneficial relationship.”

The meeting between the prime minister of Japan and the president of Mongolia has been six years and four months since July 2016.
