Japan won the 2023 WBC World Baseball Classic in 14 years.
Japan won 3-2 in the WBC final against the United States held in Miami, USA, and won the tournament for the third time in 14 years after winning the tournament in 2006 and 2009.
Japan’s Murakami and Okamoto hit solo home runs, and Ohtani, who recorded 1 hit in 3 at-bats, took the mound as the catcher in the top of the 9th and struck out the final batter, sealing the championship the team with a scoreless field.
