This morning, at a middle school in Yatomi City, Aichi Prefecture, Japan, an urgent report was received by the police that ‘students quarreled and stabbed the abdomen with a knife’.

“I put (the victim) on a stretcher and put him in an ambulance, but it didn’t seem to be moving at all.”

Paramedics rushed to the victim, but he died of excessive bleeding.

The suspect, a 14-year-old third-year student at this school, stabbed a classmate’s abdomen with a knife in the hallway in front of the classroom around 8:00 a.m.

There are also reports that it appears to be a planned crime by purchasing a weapon before going to school.

The two students came from the same elementary school and were in the same class in their sophomore year, and it is said that they became different classes in their third year this year.

Police and education authorities are investigating, but the motive for the crime has yet to be confirmed.

“I pray for the recovery of the student who died in a very tragic incident and express my condolences to the bereaved family.”

There is a lot of speculation on social media that it is a case of retaliation for bullying in schools.

In Japan, as there has been a series of knife attacks on trains in recent years, there is growing anxiety about whether similar incidents have spread to school sites.
