Jeonnam Dragons failed to advance to the round of 16 of the 2022 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Champions League (ACL).
The Jeonnam Dragons drew 0-0 against BG Pathum United (Thailand) in the ACL Group G Game 6 held at Pathum Thani Stadium in Thailand on the 30th of last month.
With a draw that day, Jeonnam finished 3rd with 2 wins, 2 draws, 2 losses, and 8 points.
Jeonnam had a chance to score in the 4th minute of the first half. Plana knocked down Patum’s left flank and gave it to Lim Chan-ul as a cutback.
After that, Jeonnam faced a crisis due to Patum’s offensive. In the 6th minute of the first half, Prieswan’s surprise mid-range shot was blocked by goalkeeper Dasol Kim. In the 16th minute of the first half, Tangda received a long pass from the rear and continued to shoot with his left foot, but it went slightly to the right of the goal.
In the 34th minute of the first half, Kyu-hyuk Lee received a pass from Seok-hyeon Lee and attempted a ground ball shot, but it slightly missed the post.
Jeonnam, who finished the first half 0-0, made a change at the start of the second half. Hee-Sung Park was replaced by Hee-Hee, followed by Ho-Kang Han and In-Hyeok Park in place of Hu-Kwon Lee and Chan-Wol Lim. However, they failed to score and the match ended in a draw.
After the game, Jeonnam coach Jeonnam Jeon Jeon-jun said, “It’s a pity that we couldn’t deliver results in a great and glorious place. It’s entirely up to me (responsibility) for not being able to deliver results.” He said, “I did my best until the last game and if I can step on the ACL stage again, then it will be then. “I hope I can make it to the round of 16 and 8 without failing.”
