jobs in saudi arabia: Saudiization: About one lakh expatriates lost their jobs this year

Riyadh: One lakh expatriates have reportedly lost their jobs in the private sector in Saudi Arabia this year. According to figures from the first half of this year, many were fired halfway through or denied the opportunity to renew their visas. It is part of a growing Saudiisation drive in Saudi Arabia. Authorities, led by the Saudi Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, are working to expand repatriation to more jobs.

And in the real estate and film sectors

The two areas of new indigenization are the real estate and cinema professions. The aim is to appoint Saudis to these top posts. The ministry hopes that this will initially provide employment to more than 11,000 Saudis. The plan aims to reduce the unemployment rate in Saudi Arabia. The Saudis will be given top positions in the film production sector. The Saudis will be tasked with overseeing, selling tickets in theaters and running businesses. Foreigners cannot be employed in this area. All top jobs in the real estate brokerage and construction sector will be restricted to Saudis. The ministry said the order has come into force. Strong action will be taken against those who violate the law. Apart from this, the ministry also said that repatriation will be done gradually in the lower level jobs in the real estate sector itself.

More fond of sales jobs

Meanwhile, statistics show that sales jobs are the most preferred for Saudis in the private sector. Most Saudis are interested in jobs such as salesman / saleswoman and sales marketing. Of the more than one lakh jobs selected by Saudis in the private sector in the first half of 2021, more than 250,000 are related to the sales sector. Bad pay in this sector is considered to be a major reason for this. Those in the general sales sector and marketing specialists are paid more than 44,000 riyals. Sales representatives are paid more than Rs 4,100.

Accountants get paid more

At the same time, accountants are the highest paid Saudis in the private sector. According to figures released by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, Saudis earn more than 4,500 riyals in the region. Administrative assistants are paid less immediately. Those working in the sector earn an average of more than 4,400 riyals. According to the ministry, all Saudis who have joined the private sector are members of the social insurance scheme. According to the National Labor Observatory, security guards were the lowest paid of the 15 categories of jobs legalized by Saudis in the first half of this year. Their average salary is 3600 riyals.

Unemployment among Saudis has dropped

According to the Saudi Labor Market Statistics, the country’s unemployment rate fell sharply in the second half of 2021. Unemployment has fallen to 6.6 per cent from nine per cent in the previous year. It was 11.7 per cent in the first half of 2021 and fell to 11.3 per cent in the second half.
