Jump to the top of the World Test-Championship list: No. 1 in the rankings


India: Virat Kohli and his team win the New Zealand Test series 1-0. The Kiwis ended the second innings at 167 in Mumbai on the fourth day with a convincing 372 – run victory over India, the largest Test team in history. The draw in the first Test at Kanpur was a setback, but the victory helped Virat Kohli and his team to advance to the Test series and jump to the ICC World Test Championship. However, the Indian team, which topped the ICC Test rankings with a huge victory in the Mumbai Tests, retaliated against the New Zealand team that defeated India in the first World Test ‌ Championship final. This is the third victory of the Indian team in the second edition of the World Test Championship.

With this victory, the Indian team reached the third position in the table with 42 points. Sri Lanka and Pakistan are currently in the first two places in the list. It was also Kohli’s 13th victory in the World Test Championship under Kohli’s captaincy. With this, Virat Kohli was able to reach the top of the list. Despite winning at home, it is crucial for Virat Kohli and his team to win the upcoming South African Test series.
