[이데일리 스타in 김보영 기자] Actor Jung Jun-ho’s side announced that they would do their best to resolve the issue of arrears in employee wages at the company in which he was a major shareholder.

On the 18th, an official from Jung Jun-ho’s side told E-Daily, “Jung Jun-ho does not have direct responsibility, such as resigning from the in-house director position before the issue of arrears in wages in June. We will do our best to help solve this problem with a sense of responsibility. Efforts are being made to engage in dialogue with investors and management. The resignation of the in-house director was also at the request of the investment company, who was concerned about his current status as a celebrity and public figure.”

Earlier, on the 17th, JTBC reported that the employees and sales managers of Company A located in Gangnam, Seoul did not receive up to three months’ wages, and that the company was where actor Jung Jun-ho was a major shareholder.

According to the report, the amount in arrears ranges from hundreds of thousands to tens of thousands of won. There were more than 100 members of the online cafe where the victims gathered, and it was reported that the company executive even said abusive language to the protesting employee.

It is reported that Jung Jun-ho was at one time a major shareholder who owned more than 30% of the company and was also listed as an inside director. JTBC reported that he took part in external events such as signing an MOU and internal training. However, it was reported that he resigned as an executive director in June, just before the issue of arrears in wages arose.

In an interview with JTBC, Jung Jun-ho said, “We will solve the problem of arrears in wages as soon as possible.” Regarding the resignation of the inside director position, he added, “It was at the request of the investment company.”
