Kollam: E Sreedharan against K Rail, the flagship project of the state government. He accused the project of being against the state interest. He said the construction of the K Rail in line with the current alignment of the Silver Line would form the ‘China Wall’ that would divide Kerala.

K Rail’s announcement that it will operate freight at night is impractical. K Rail’s claim that the project can be completed by 2025 is also wrong. He also pointed out that the construction of one of the 27 railway overbridges, which KRDCL has been entrusted with, has not even started.

He also criticized the state government’s decision to take over the debt of the K Rail project. Asked who had stopped the Kozhikode and Thiruvananthapuram light metro projects, Metroman said that if it had continued then, the light metro would have been operating in two cities today. In a press release, E Sreedharan said that the BJP could not stand by the false claims of the state government.

Opposition leader VD Satheesan had alleged that K Rail was planning to sell Kerala. Opposition leader Satheesan scoffed that even the CPM state secretary did not know what was happening on the K train. He was inaugurating a fast by NK Premachandran MP and PC Vishnunath MLA against K Rail in Kundara. CPM Central Committee member EP Jayarajan today said that the Opposition was trying to sabotage development in Kerala by opposing K Rail.

Earlier, BJP state president K Surendran had said that the K rail project was not needed in Kerala. This is a project aimed at a small number of people. The government aims to implement the scheme at a cost of over Rs 1 lakh crore. No environmental impact study was conducted. The stage is set for massive corruption behind the project. It is an attempt to get crores of commission on the project. The aim is universal corruption. The government is evil. The government is not clear about the loan for the project, its criteria, interest and consultancy. Surendran also demanded that the mistake be rectified.
