Alappuzha: The joy of the teacher as she surrounded all 28 female students in her school. Punnapra Govt. S. Sindhu, a teacher at CYMA UP School, Alappuzha, Watakkal Tejassil, presented bracelets to her young students at the end of the academic year. This time, all the girls got bracelets as gifts for the 7th grade going out of school.

Out of the total of 54 students in the school, 28 girls from LKG were decorated by the teacher. Sindhu’s teacher finds sponsors and provides bags, umbrellas and water bottles to the needy students every academic year at the school where students from coastal areas study. The teacher made a desperate effort to prepare a home for the student who had lost his parents and to provide the children with phones for online learning. Sindhu, a 44-year-old teacher, who is completing sixteen years of service, has been with CYMA School Punnapra Govt for the past six years. Her husband Joshi was a military officer. Daughter: Tejalakshmi.

Bangles are for my kids

The fancy shop run by Sindhu’s friend Dalia was closed down recently. Sindhu’s teacher told Dalia, who was wondering what to do with the bracelets in stock at the shop, that she could buy the bracelets for her school children. Those that were not enough were bought from the nearby Utsavaparam. While the girls were garlanding, the teacher gave sweets and biryani to all the boys.

Every year, seventh grade students are sad when they leave school. This time they were buying presents for all the girls. Their happiness filled their hearts.

S. Sindhu
