Broadcasters Kang Ho-dong and Lee Seung-gi reunite in a variety show. 8 years have passed since tvN’s ‘New Journey to the West’ in 2015.
On the 20th, an SBS official told Donga.com, “Kang Ho-dong and Lee Seung-gi will meet in the new version of ‘Strong Heart League’ (tentative title).” According to officials, PD Kim Dong-wook, who showed ‘Same Bed, Different Dreams 2-You Are My Destiny’ and ‘While I Sleep’, is directing, and the first broadcast is scheduled for sometime in the month of May.
‘Strong Heart’ was a group talk show that aired on SBS between 2009 and 2013 and was initially co-hosted by Kang Ho-dong and Lee Seung-gi. In 2011, Kang Ho-dong announced his temporary retirement from the entertainment industry due to allegations of tax evasion, and Lee Seung-gi switched to a solo MC system. After that, Shin Dong-yeop and Lee Dong-wook were in charge of the show until the end.
Kang Ho-dong and Lee Seung-gi reunited in the ‘Strong Heart League’ (tentative title), which is being revived after 10 years. The entertainment combination of the two people is more expected because it has been 8 years since Season 1 of ‘New Journey to the West’. Even Kang Ho-dong’s ‘rumor of Lee Seung-gi breaking hands’, which was raised online recently in the historic meeting, is expected to disappear.
