Kannur train fire case; Medical examination of accused Prasonjeet Sikder has been completed

Kannur – The medical examination of Prasonjeet Sikdar, a native of Kolkata, Bengal, who was involved in the burning of a coach of the Executive Express stopped at the railway station, has been completed. The medical examination was completed by taking the accused to Kannur district hospital. The suspect was brought to hospital wearing a mask. He will be produced in court on Saturday. North Region IG Neeraj Kumar Gupta had disclosed that the accused had a mental problem.

The police explained that the man, who has been living by begging for two years, set the fire in frustration as he did not get the money he wanted after coming here. Prasonjeet is currently the only accused. However, the police are also investigating to see if there are more people involved in the incident. The investigation team reached Kolkata today to check Sikdar’s background. A team led by Kannur City Police CI Biju Prakash reached Kolkata.
