Chennai: Indian cricketer Dinesh Karthik and his wife Deepika Pallikkal, who is also a Malayalee squash player, have given birth to twins. Dinesh Karthik and Deepika Pallikkal made the announcement on social media. Both had two sons.
‘So the three of us became five. Deepika and I have given birth to two boys’ – Dinesh Karthik tweeted along with a picture of Deepika and her children.
The children have been named Kabir Pallikkal Karthik and Sian Pallikkal Karthik, Karthik said in a post on social media.
Dinesh Karthik from Tamil Nadu and Deepika Pallikkal got married in 2013. Dinesh Karthik made his debut for Kolkata Knight Riders in the 14th season of the recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL). Meanwhile, Syed Mushtaq Ali has been ruled out of the upcoming Tamil Nadu Trophy squad due to injury.
Deepika Pallikkal is the first Indian woman to make the top 10 in the Professional Squash Association’s women’s rankings. Deepika made her professional squash debut in 2006. Deepika Padukone, who has been sidelined for two years due to a leg injury, is expected to return with the Commonwealth Games next year.
