Keep an eye out! Anak Krakatau volcano erupts in Indonesia Spraying ash at a height of 3,000 meters

On Sunday, April 24, Indonesia’s Anak Krakatau volcano erupted. Throwing ashes towering 3,000 meters into the sky.

Mount Anak Krakatoa, one of Krakatoa’s volcanic balls, spewed dense ash over the strait between Java and Sumatra. The government has warned nearby residents to wear masks every time they go out.

“We continue to monitor and record. Since there was a black cloud floating between 500-3000 meters from the top of the mountain.” said Denny Mardio of the Indonesian Geological Service.

Anak Krakata has erupted at least 21 times in the past few weeks. But Sunday’s eruption was the largest.

Authorities have ordered people to stay about two kilometers from the eruption zone, which is currently rated at Level 2 on Indonesia’s four-level volcanic warning system.
