Kerala wins Vijay Hazare Trophy in ODI cricket quarterfinals Sanju Samson and his team beat Uttarakhand by five wickets to become group champions.
This is Vijay Hazare’s third knockout appearance in Kerala. This is the first time they have advanced as group champions.
Sachin Baby’s unbeaten 83 off 71 balls against Uttarakhand was Kerala’s winner. Tendulkar hit two sixes and seven fours in Baby’s innings. Uttarakhand scored 224 for nine. Kerala won by 35.4 overs. MD Nidheesh took three wickets. Basil Thampi both. Among the batsmen, Vishnu Vinod (34), captain Sanju (33), Vinoop Manoharan (28) and Rohan Kunnummal (26) supported Sachin Baby. Jai Bista was the top scorer for Uttarakhand with 93 runs.
The opponents are Services in the quarter. The competition is for the 22nd of this month.
In the group stage, Kerala won four of the five matches. They beat Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Chandigarh and Uttarakhand. Defeated to Madhya Pradesh.
