Kerala Blasters lost in a friendly match

Kochi: Kerala Blasters lost to Kerala United FC in a training match ahead of the Indian Super League. The Blazers’ defeat was the only goal scored by Bujir in the 42nd minute. The Blazers came on the field without any foreign or Indian players.

In the first half, number one goalkeepers Albino Gomez, Sanjeev Stalin, Sandeep, Haque, Jassel Carneiro, Putia, Khabra, Saityasen, Prashant, Subhaghosh and Mahesh were in the Blasters’ line-up. In the second half, coach Vukomanovich Sandeep, Dhanachandra Meethe, AYUSH officer, Vince Barreto, Sreekuttan, Giwson and Bijoy were also given a chance.

The Blasters, who have previously made it clear they will play in the Durand Cup, have decided to play three friendly matches ahead of the start of the tournament. Today is the first of these. The Blasters will take on the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council team in the third match. It has not been decided when the match with the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council will take place. After these matches, the Blasters will return to Kolkata for the Durand Cup.

The Durand Cup, Asia’s oldest football tournament, kicks off on September 5. In 2019, Gokulam Kerala became the champions. The Durand Cup was not held last season following the Kovid plague. The matches will be played in Kolkata.
