Kerala COVID Update : Kovid-19 has been confirmed for 12,616 people in Kerala today. The worst affected districts are Ernakulam 1932, Thiruvananthapuram 1703, Kozhikode 1265, Thrissur 1110, Malappuram 931, Kollam 869, Kottayam 840, Pathanamthitta 766, Kannur 698, Idukki 656, Palakkad 634, Alappuzha 569, Wayanad 440 and Kasaragod 203.

98,782 samples were tested during the last 24 hours. The Weekly Infection Population Ratio (WIPR) covers 745 wards in 368 local bodies above 10. There will be strict control here.

There are currently 3,90,631 people under surveillance in various districts of the state. Of these, 3,75,306 are under home / institutional quarantine and 15,325 in hospitals. A total of 918 people were newly admitted to the hospital.

Currently, out of 1,22,407 Kovid cases, only 11 per cent are admitted to hospitals / field hospitals.

Kovid-19 has been confirmed as the cause of 134 deaths in the past few days. This brings the total death toll to 25,811.

Today, 49 of those diagnosed with the disease are from outside the state. 12,018 people were infected through contact. Contact source for 452 is not clear. The disease affected 97 health workers.

A total of 14,516 people who were diagnosed and treated were cured. Thiruvananthapuram 1508, Kollam 78, Pathanamthitta 812, Alappuzha 944, Kottayam 1037, Idukki 651, Ernakulam 2328, Thrissur 1420, Palakkad 759, Malappuram 1153, Kozhikode 2322, Wayanad 735, Kannur 642 and Kasaragod 127 were cured. With this, 1,22,407 people have been diagnosed with the disease and are still undergoing treatment. 46,02,600 people have so far been freed from Kovid.
