Manama: The Kerala Football Association of Bahrain (KFA) is organizing a mega football tournament called ‘Super Cup 2022’. The tournament will be held on May 19, 20, 26, 27, June 2, 3, 9 and 10, 2022 at the ground behind the Gosi Complex in Hoora on Thursday and Friday.
There will be a professional 8 team, a semi-professional 16 team and an amateur 32 team. The Kerala Football Association Bahrain is an organization formed to promote sports among the Malayalee expats in Bahrain. The movement, which started with 20 clubs in 2019, has grown to 54 clubs and 1,200 players today. There have been about 23 small and large tournaments in the last short period of time.
The office bearers informed that all expatriates are requested to witness the biggest football event among the expatriate Malayalees in Bahrain and to promote sports among the expatriate Malayalees. KFA President Obaid Poomangalam, Vice Presidents Mohammad Rafeeq, General Secretary Krishna Das, Treasurer Tasleem Thennadan, Joint Secretaries Abdul Jalil and Arun Sarath, Members Coordinators Sajjad Sulaiman and Sawad Thalappacheri were present at the press conference.
