Kerala defeated Puducherry in the final match of the Southern Region Qualifying Round to advance to the final round of the Santosh Trophy. Kerala won by four goals to one.
The match against Puducherry was not as one-sided as the one against Lakshadweep and the Andamans. Like the advances, Kerala faced counterattacks. Kerala took the lead in the 21st minute through Nijo Gilbert who converted a penalty.
