Thiruvananthapuram: Kovid has confirmed 55,475 cases in Kerala. During the last 24 hours, 1,12,281 samples were tested. There are currently 4,42,466 people under surveillance in various districts of the state. Of these, 4,32,124 are under home / institutional quarantine and 10,342 in hospitals. A total of 1387 people were newly admitted to the hospital. The confirmation rate was 49.4 percent. This is the first time in the state that Kovid cases have crossed 50,000.

Of the current 2,85,365 Kovid cases, only 3.8 per cent have been admitted to hospitals / field hospitals. In addition, 84 deaths have been reported which have been appealed by the Central Government under the new guidelines of the Supreme Court. This brings the total death toll in the state to 52,141.
Today, 139 of those diagnosed with the disease are from outside the state. 51,547 people were infected through contact. Contact source for 3373 is not clear. 506 health workers were affected by the disease. Of those diagnosed and treated, 30,226 recovered. With this, 2,85,365 people have been diagnosed with the disease and are still undergoing treatment. 53,86,868 have so far been freed from Kovid.
