Kerala Rain: Night travel ban in Idukki district

Thodupuzha: A night travel ban has been imposed in Idukki district. The move comes as an orange alert has been declared in the district.
The district collector said that the journey to the hilly region should be avoided till 7 am tomorrow.

The Orange Alert has been declared in five districts of the state. Apart from Idukki, orange alert has been issued in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta and Kottayam districts.

Yellow alert has been declared in all the districts except Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasaragod. Heavy rainfall over Idukki High Range

Heavy rains in the state due to the impact of the cyclone off the coast of Sri Lanka. The cyclone will turn into a low pressure area in the Andaman Sea by Monday. It is likely to move to the Indian coast later.

Kallar Dam may open

Idukki Kallar Dam may be opened. It will open when the water level reaches 823.60 meters. The current water level is 822.20 meters.

Dysfunction of the spherical valve; The first generator at the Moolamattom power station was shut down

The number one generator at the Moolamattom power station was shut down due to a fault in the spherical valve. The rubber seal attached to the spherical valve was damaged. When the seal was broken, water was leaking out.

At present the plant has 5 generators running. The fault will be rectified by noon tomorrow.
