Thiruvananthapuram: The Central Meteorological Department has warned of isolated heavy rains in the state. Yellow alert has been declared in three districts. The Met Department has forecast isolated showers and thundershowers till Wednesday.

The yellow alert has been issued in Pathanamthitta, Kottayam and Idukki districts. The possibility of isolated heavy rains is forecast. Heavy rainfall means 64.5 to 115.5 mm of rainfall in 24 hours.

Today, fishing off the coasts of Tamil Nadu, Kanyakumari, Gulf of Mannar and southwestern Bay of Bengal is expected with strong winds of up to 40-50 kmph. Fishing is not restricted along the coasts of Karnataka and Lakshadweep.
