KGF Chapter 2, released on April 14, is one of the most iconic films in the history of Indian cinema. Directed by Prashant Neil and starring Yash, the film has grossed over Rs 1000 crore in just 17 days.
Trade analyst Ramesh Bala tweeted that KGF2 is the fourth Indian film to reach the Rs 1000 crore club. KGF2 tops the list after RRR, Bahubali 2 and Dangal. Rajamouli’s film RRR has grossed over Rs 1000 crore at the box office this year before KGF2. According to reports, RRR has achieved Rs 1115 crore so far.

In addition to Rs 50 crore, KGF 2 also holds the record for the fastest acquisition of Rs 20, 30 and 40 crore. Before Lucifer, Bahubali 2 and before that, in 2016, Mohanlal’s film Puli Murugan is the list of films that have grossed over 50 crores in Kerala.
Amazon Prime Video has acquired the digital rights to KGF Chapter 2, which has been a huge success in theaters. Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Hindi languages have been acquired by Oddi. OTT, however, has not announced when the release will take place.
