Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, praised the paramilitary force for cracking down on protesters in the wake of Mahsa Amini’s death. He said that those agitating in Iran are American mercenaries and taking strong action against them is commendable.
Strong protest continues after a Kurdish woman named Mahsa Amini was beaten to death by Iran’s Religious Affairs Police for not covering her hair. There are reports that at least 448 people have been killed and more than 18,000 arrested during the protests.
