Khamzat Chimaev agitated with UFC and Dana White – says he will call middleweights

Khamzat Chimaev is like a human fighting machine, seeking regular competition. He made his UFC debut at Fight Island on July 15 and is already the victim of three straight wins.

Finishing all three of his opponents, Chimaev competed in both the middleweight and welterweight divisions. That said, it looked like he had been taking refuge in the welterweight unit for some time. However, Chimaev is now ready to enter the middleweight division again, as he failed to clinch any of the top 170lbs.

Many fighters believe it is bizarre to give him a high-level bout because he only has three fights in the UFC. However, looking at his business and absolute domination, many believe ‘Borz’ can actually defeat the A-listers.

While it’s only been a month since his knockout win against Gerald Meerschaert, Khamzat Chimaev is calling the middleweights like he’s normal.

Khamzat Chimaev pleads with Dana White for more challenges

After calling out welterweight contenders like Stephen Thompson and many others, Chimaev turned to Twiter to make a statement. He tagged the head of the UFC, Dana White, in the post and wrote, “I can’t fight welterweight, I’m going to start calling middleweight.”

He has yet to receive an answer on the matter, but Chimaev has also set his sights on the middleweight title. When Israel Adesanya defends his title against Paulo Costa at UFC 253, ‘Borz’ asked the administrators to hand him the “Skinny boy” via Twitter.

It is safe to believe that White will not immediately offer him a title shot. But, if the Swedish sensation continues to climb the rankings, he will soon have a title fight. The question is, will he be in middleweight or welterweight?

There are only two months to 2020 and it looks like Chimaev will fight more than once. If he’s looking at a middleweight move now, it’ll be tempting to fans. That said, UFC administrators must make the final call. “Borz” and MMA fans want it to happen.
